Ragnarok Origin — The Mobile Classic That Wrapped Up (NA)
Published by: Gravity
Release: 2020 (KR), 2021–2022 (global regions)
Ragnarok Origin (ROO) took the classic RO formula to mobile with a heavy nostalgia coat — original maps, original jobs, original music — and it worked. But on March 24, 2026, the NA service officially ended after Gravity announced the closure in January 2026. Global and other regional servers have continued (with active server merges), and Ragnarok Origin Classic (ROOC) later reopened to a mixed reception.
The NA shutdown
Gravity's announcement in January 2026 confirmed the difficult decision to end the Ragnarok Origin NA service. The service officially terminated March 24, 2026 (PST), with access to in-game content and accounts restricted. It was a reminder that even successful mobile RO titles have lifespans — and that the community always finds its way back to the original.
What ROO leaves behind — and where NA players went
ROO proved the appetite for a "true to the original" mobile RO. Its best moments — the faithful maps, the classic jobs, the community events — are exactly what mobile RO players keep asking for. And Gravity heard that: **Ragnarok Origin Classic (ROOC)** reopened the classic experience, and on **July 23, 2026** it launched on the **AMER server** for PC and mobile across North, Central, and South America — the anti-pay-to-win variant that is the de facto home for ex-NA ROO players. Whether through Origin Classic, Ragnarok M, or the private-server scene, that appetite is still being fed.
